This policy explains what personal information we collect through gyraffe.om, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Gyraffe is a brand of Horizons Industrial Development Company L.L.C. (“HIDC”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a gypsum manufacturer based in Sohar, Sultanate of Oman.

1. Who we are

Horizons Industrial Development Company L.L.C. is the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not buy personal data from third parties.

Information you provide

• Product, quotation and bulk enquiries — your name, email address, telephone number, company name (where given), the product you are asking about, and the content of your message.
• Datasheet requests — the same contact details, together with the document you have asked for. Our team reviews the request and sends the datasheet to you by email.
• Career applications — your name, email address, telephone number, the position you are applying for, and anything you include in your message.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server logs — including IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time — for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting. These logs are generated by the hosting infrastructure rather than by us, and are not used to identify individual visitors.

3. How we use your information

• To answer your enquiry and provide the pricing, technical information or datasheet you asked for.
• To assess and respond to job applications.
• To keep a record of business correspondence.
• To protect the security and integrity of this website.
• To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations that apply to us in Oman.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data submitted through this website on the basis of your consent, given when you complete and submit a form, and on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and recruiting staff. 5. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking pixels. No cookies are set when you simply browse the site.

• Language preference — if you select a language from the language switcher, a cookie named googtrans is stored in your browser so the site remembers your choice. This is set by the Google Translate service used to power the switcher.
• Administrator sessions — if you log in to manage the website, WordPress sets session and authentication cookies. These apply only to staff accounts, not to visitors.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the language cookie means the site will not remember your chosen language between visits.

6. Who we share information with

We share personal data only where it is necessary, and only with:

• Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions in order to operate this website and deliver our correspondence.
• Google Translate, if you use the language switcher. Selecting a language sends the page content to Google’s translation service so that it can be translated. Google processes this under its own privacy policy.
• Authorities, regulators or professional advisers, where we are required to do so by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not share your details with advertisers or data brokers.

7. International transfers

We are based in Oman. Some of our service providers operate servers outside Oman, which means your information may be transferred to and stored in another country. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information remains protected to a standard consistent with this policy and with Omani data protection requirements.

8. How long we keep your information

• Enquiries and quotation requests — retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and to keep a reasonable record of the commercial relationship.
• Career applications — retained for the duration of the recruitment process, and for a limited period afterwards so that we can consider you for future openings.
• Server logs — retained for a short period by our hosting provider for security purposes.

When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to enquiry records is restricted to authorised personnel. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take appropriate measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send confidential commercial information or identity documents through the website forms.

10. Your rights

Subject to Omani law, including the Personal Data Protection Law issued under Royal Decree No. 6/2022, you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy;
• correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• delete information we no longer have a valid reason to keep;
• restrict or object to how we use your information;
• withdraw a consent you previously gave.

11. Children

This website is intended for construction professionals, contractors, distributors and business customers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can remove it.

12. Links to other websites

Our website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any website you visit.
